Spence Diamonds and Texas Children’s Hospital join forces for uninsured children
Houston, TX October 16, 2009 – Spence Diamonds and The Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston have teamed up to raise funds for children who are not covered by medical insurance, announced Sean Jones, CEO of Spence Diamonds.
There are 1.4 million uninsured children in Texas – more than one of our of five children in the state (20.5 percent), according to a 2008 report released by Families USA – a national organization for health care consumers. These numbers place Texas first in the nation for the number of uninsured children and first nationally for the percentage of children in the state without health insurance. Further, new Census Bureau data shows that the number of uninsured children continues to grow in Texas. “Spence Diamonds is looking for 300 men and women who will give $1,000 each to The Texas Children’s Hospital. Every penny of your gift will go directly where it’s needed most – children without health care insurance”said Sean Jones.
As a token of appreciation, Spence Diamonds will give each $1,000 donor an exclusive Diamond Heart Pendant to say “thank you” from the kids.
“The diamond pendant,” said Jones, “is one that you can wear with pride since it says you cared enough to give from the heart.”
