Proposal Story #1
"While we were on vacation in London, England, we took a cruise on the Thames River. As our boat passed under the London Bridge my boyfriend showed me the ring he had been hiding, and asked me to marry him. After many tears of shock and happiness I said yes. London will always be special to me now in so many ways. My proposal tip is to surprise her in a place that is special to her." Ara F., Toronto, ON
Proposal Story #2
"My boyfriend decided to make me dinner, and it was all beautifully set with placemats (something he had never done before) and there was a rose in a vase at my place setting. When I sat down to eat, he kept saying how pretty the rose was and that I should smell it. And me, knowing that something was up; I thought it would be fun to be difficult, so I wouldn't smell the rose! Frustrated with me, he finally said "look in the damn rose". The ring was in the rose, and the rest is history. My proposal tip is if you want to surprise her, don't do anything out of the ordinary!" Valerie S., Toronto, ON
Proposal Story #3
"My boyfriend and I went to Niagara Falls, ON, for dinner. We had dinner at the Sheraton-Fallsview and it was beautiful overlooking the falls. When we were finished dinner he told me a story about the diamond in the falls. He said that it was in the middle of the falls, and that people had died trying to retrieve it, but that at night, sometimes you could see it if you looked at the right spot and the lights hit it just right. I refused to believe him, so after dinner he took me out to one of those telescopes that you look through and told me to look through it to see the diamond. Of course I couldn't see anything so he looked through and told me he could see it perfectly, so I looked a second time and he was holding the diamond ring at the end of the telescope, I couldn't believe it! I said yes!! (After I got over the shock)." Kelly M., Cambridge, ON
Proposal Story #4
"I met him at the Club, in the VIP entrance. He was a bouncer there. The big day was when he took me out to dinner at an Italian Restaurant, and gave me a card that had a poem with a list of promises... After dinner he casually asked me if I wouldn't mind dropping off a CD at the club he used to work at. We walked in, and gave the CD to his friend. He walked me to the VIP area, where we first met and asked me if I remembered the first day we met - I of course said ‘yes’, how could I forget? He asked me to close my eyes, and I did... When he asked me to open them, I saw him on the floor with one knee. He took out the box that held the ring, and said, "You complete my life, Will you marry me?" I was shaking at this point. I started to cry and said ‘Yes, yes...I will.’ He took my hand, put it on, and walked me through the doors to the main dance floor. The DJ played our song, and we danced. I was so happy and shocked at the same time." Lisa S., Mississauga, ON
Proposal Story #5
“My boyfriend proposed when we were on an action with my parents at Manning Park Resort. His brother came down to visit us and together they decided how Anthony would "surprise" me. So the day before we were supposed to go home, Allan (Anthony's brother) and I took Anthony up to the top of the mountain for some last minute snow boarding, and while he was up there Allan was supposed to lead me to the ice ring. The night before, Anthony had used Kool-Aid to write a message on the ice ring: 'Laura Lee Marry Me. Orange Chair Lift 1 PM.' So at one o'clock, Anthony came speeding down the mountain. He dropped down on both knees (still strapped to the snowboard) and proposed to me. Then to top if off, right after he asked me, we went on a few more runs down the mountain. It was perfect." Laura S, White Rock, BC
